My name is Ellen Wilcox and my creative journey has led to you reading this today.
I’ve always been excited to explore my creative interests, from art to music, to design and more.
Academically this started with my Bachelor of Music (Honours) followed by a Diploma in Digital Photography and then most recently my Graduate Diploma in Design (Communication) from the Otago Polytechnic School of Design. Throughout my working life in various careers I have always stepped forward to be involved creatively where possible. Starting from mere visual merchandising of retail shop displays this has developed through to creating communication design outcomes such as information handouts, posters and advertising. By taking these opportunities to learn, practice, and grow my ideas I have been expanding my capabilities while following a path that allows me to dedicate myself to working creatively.
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words…
…but I believe a good design can tell a story much longer than that. It is a powerful moment when a design leaves a lasting impression from a momentary look. This is the level of storytelling I strive to achieve in my work. Powerful visuals can be very compelling and impact a viewer’s thoughts, moods, opinions and so much more. The question is, what do you want to say? I endeavour to find the perfect visual language through colour, contrast, and stylistic choices to find the right voice.
I want to get to know your business, your goals, your dreams, so that with a strong foundation we can build a successful project that is focused on where you want to be.
